While THE
LIVING COURSE provides people with a rich experience of feeling
and insight, absent action the experience remains incomplete. The key
to realizing your life goals is in the actions--the concrete steps you
take, to make your goals and dreams a reality in your life. Many people
spend time thinking about what they could do if only they felt like it,
had the energy, training, time, education, etc. THE
NEXT STEP training is designed to move you beyond the “if
only stage”, into accomplishing and making your life the one you
want it to become.
THE NEXT STEP is a year-long intensive leadership training and
development program designed to prepare participants to become leaders
for the 21st century. Whether it is the corporate world, their own business,
or inspiring others, this training will prepare the participants to achieve
at a higher level, accomplishing more with greater results. Participants
will learn to lead and influence others as never before.
Don’t wait for your life to arrive by accident or magic, TAKE ACTION
NOW!
"For the individual who is committed
to effective change in his or her life, The Next Step is the logical
follow-up to The Living Course experience. I really like the feeling
of taking action in my life. For me it has been the right course at
the right time."
Jim Czech, Environmental Engineer
"...I found myself thinking
that this course is one of the most valuable financial and emotional
investments I have ever made. It has allowed me to see new depths and
definitions of success, reward, self-knowledge and what is possible
in one's life. I would recommend this course to anyone for a challenging
adventure in self-discovery and relational understanding...."
Dr. Ellen Kosinski, Veterinarian
AREAS OF FOCUS:
| Commitment |
Integrity |
| Money |
Time |
| Team |
Taking Action |
| Creating Results |
Relationships |
PARTICIPANTS WILL WORK ON THE FOLLOWING:
1. Determining and implementing short and long term
goals:
Each participant is required to set a year-long goal
that he or she wants to reach and must develop a plan for accomplishing
it.
2. Being comfortable leading groups:
During each session, students will be given opportunities
to lead and/or influence others or the group as a whole.
3. Managing relationships:
work, family or friends We look at personal beliefs
that interfere with the participant's reaching their stated goal
and those behaviors that are having an immediate adverse impact
on their work, family and/or friends.
4. Teams:
leading, following, and formation The class as a
whole is required to develop a team project. This project must benefit
the community and be designed to ensure each class member will have
to stretch beyond skills they already openly possess.
5. Enrolling others to be on the
team:
The group will learn how to expand their team. Many
studies have shown that when leaders have the support and encouragement
of others, not just at work, results are greatly enhanced and accomplished
in a much shorter time period.
6. "How I show up":
attitude and presence Each person will be able to
see how they present themselves to the world and what messages they
give to others about who they are.
7. Goals of behavior and misbehavior:
Using material from Redirecting Corporate America
members will come to understand the goals of non-productive behavior
and ways to redirect that into more productive and desired outcomes.
This is a behaviorally based approach to effective people management.
TECHNIQUES, APPROACHES and TOPICS:
- Outside consultants from other disciplines may be utilized;
i.e., body image, communication, community building, Imago Therapy,
etc.
- Group and individual challenges utilizing a R.O.P.E.S.
course format
- Participants will be challenged to see their potential
and how living their life at that level will have a greater and more
positive impact on the world.
- Participatory classroom training--exploring the limiting
beliefs that prevent the students from effectively leading and influencing
others, with strategies developed to change and/or expand these belief
systems
- Written assignments and selected required readings
are accomplished between sessions.
- On-going work on both individual and group projects/goals
- Learning to live "on purpose"--own and take
charge of ones outcomes in all areas of life.
Class Size:
Due to the individual nature of the training, the class
size is limited to 15 participants.
Location:
The six (6) sessions will be held at the Center for Life
Enhancement in Monroe, MI.
Day / Times of Weekend Sessions:
Weekends consist of Friday and Saturday sessions from 9:00
AM- 9:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to noon.
Statements spoken by participants on THE NEXT STEP weekends:
"I've learned what personal integrity looks like,
and how I shaded the truth in the past. I make better choices now."
"To persevere, be strong, have fortitude, be focused, flexible
and in action is how I accomplish goals and that I don't have to give
up--just re-adjust when necessary."
"Take action--no matter what obstacles come."
"The Next Step has allowed me to explore all my
options more clearly.
and how to accomplish them. I also have a sense of pride, in that, I
helped make this happen, I went for what I wanted and got the results!"
"I am capable of more than I have allowed myself."
"The most valuable question in making a decision
is 'which will allow me to continue to feel good about me?' Choose that."
"Make room for the possible."
"It is better to bear with the process of creating
your dream than to put up with someone else's creation."
